Opportunity
Hort Innovation was on the cusp of launching Plant Life Balance, the nursery industry’s new consumer facing brand, when unforeseen personnel changes left the organisation needing critical support. The campaign and its signature campaign piece the Plant Life Balance app, needed to be launched and a broader three-year marketing strategy finalised. Reservoir Partners was brought on board.
Solution
First, we reviewed and finalised the marketing and launch strategy and suite of creative assets establishing a framework of robust measures of success. Then, we launched the Plant Life Balance app, a plant styling and wellness app designed to promote the health and wellbeing benefits of plants to a tech-savvy, female-skewed millennial audience. We launched a new website and Plant Life Balance publishing platform, and supported it with digital advertising, PR, social media, an event series and ambassador and influencer engagement.
Results
It was a huge success! The Plant Life Balance app won Best Lifestyle App in the World at the prestigious International Webby Awards. The Plant Life Balance publishing platform now attracts over 15,000 users a month. The plant lovers event series continues to grow from strength to strength and is operating nationally. The media and PR campaign reached 25 million people, while we grew the Facebook and Instagram pages to +50k and +30k fans respectively. Most importantly, industry levy sales rose to their highest level since records began, with national category sales growing 8 per cent year on year.
