One of Australia’s most powerful collaborative movements.

Opportunity
Hort Innovation’s flagship urban greening program, the 202020 Vision, needed critical help overseeing its final year while also developing its strategic direction for the next five years. With 2020 fast approaching, the program needed to review and prioritise its long-term strategic mission that would underpin its ground breaking work advocating for urban greening in Australia.

Solution
Having created and launched the initial program in 2013 as an employee at Hort Innovation, Reservoir Partners was perfectly positioned to revive, manage and deliver the final year of the program and provide direction on the next five years. We gained additional investment to reinvigorate the current program, while also managing a robust approach to developing the new strategic vision. We procured and delivered a five-year business review and brought together more than 30 sector experts spanning industry, government, academia, insurance, developers, health and business to identify program barriers and opportunities to inform the program’s next five year iteration.

Results
The business review was well received, allowing us to develop and take the 5-year brief to market, awarding and procuring delivery partners to deliver the program supported by a +$4.5m budget. The program achieved global recognition with partners such as the United Nations whilst winning the prestigious Banksia Sustainable Cities Award. As a result, sales of trees and plants grew eight per cent year on year, whilst reaching tens of millions of government, business and consumers driving industry sales to record levels.

Testimonial
“Dave’s strong background in consumer insights really helped me bridge a credibility gap that developed in the business I managed. He came in and provided the perfect buffer between some unhappy customers and my enthusiastic but fledgling marketing team…His long heritage in greening urban environments and wide network saw him seamlessly step into a challenging environment and deliver high value for money activities. It allowed me the breathing space I needed at that time. Dave knows people, how to get on with them and get the best out of them. He put us back in the game. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough!” - Dave Moore, General Manager Research Marketing and Investment. Horticulture Innovation Australia (2015- 2019)
